Questions,
answered.
The things people ask before their first session at our Ocean Township studio — what we do, what it costs, and how to get started.
What does 1st & Goal Athletics do?
We combine sports massage, assisted stretching, personal training, and return-to-play rehab under one roof in Ocean Township, NJ. Every training program pairs you with a nutritionist (Dr. Tricia Talerico) and includes InBody scans and app-tracked programming; Division II adds bi-weekly cryotherapy and sauna, and Division I adds metabolic testing, sports massage, and bi-weekly chiropractic care through our clinical partners.
Where are you located?
We're at 1502 NJ-35 in Ocean Township, New Jersey, on the Route 35 corridor — minutes from Asbury Park, Long Branch, Eatontown, and the surrounding Monmouth County shore towns.
How much does personal training cost?
Training is sold two ways. Division programs run two, three, or four sessions a week with nutrition, InBody scans, and recovery built in: Division III starts at $1,200 per month, Division II at $1,680, and Division I at $2,120, with three-, six-, and twelve-month packages that lower the per-session price. If you only want the training, session packs are $870 for 10 sessions, $2,490 for 30, $3,950 for 50, and $5,250 for 70. Packs are training only; massage, recovery, and testing are booked separately. Financing is available.
How much does a sports massage cost?
Soft tissue / sports massage is $115 for 30 minutes, $175 for 60, and $235 for 90. Thirty minutes is normally booked for a single-area acute injury. Sixty is the common choice for full-body work or more than one injury, acute or chronic. Ninety leaves time to work chronic areas and add modalities. Every session draws on instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (blade work), fire cupping, myofascial decompression, and deep tissue work as your body needs it. A full-body deep tissue / relaxation massage is offered as a mobile service starting at $100 for 50 minutes, $150 for 80, and $200 for 110.
Do I need to be an athlete to train here?
No. We work with competitive and youth athletes, weekend warriors, post-rehab clients, and adults who simply want to move better and recover faster. Programming is individualized to where you are.
What is sports massage and who is it for?
Sports massage is hands-on bodywork that changes how your body perceives pain — restoring mobility, calming inflammation, and getting you moving the same day. It's for anyone dealing with tightness, nagging injuries, or limited range of motion.
How do I book?
Sports massage, stretch, and sports-rehab sessions are booked online through our Vagaro scheduling page, and so is the free training consultation. Division programs are purchased through Square; for a session pack, book the free consultation and we set you up from there. You can also call (908) 446-9158.
